Hi there,
I am arriving in Prague on the 18th December and I have two young children one is 4 and the other is just 1 year old. Can you recommend any good restaurants to take them, also are families allowed in the bars or do they not allow kids in. We are comming to look at the markets and would welcome any handy tips.
Thanks Alan. - Aug 09, 2005 18:54 | Patrick

Hi Alan,
As the folks at Prague Airport Shuttle (http://www.prague-airport-shuttle.com/kids.htm) say, “Bars and restaurants are children friendly although you will have problems finding highchairs at the bottom [of the page] you will find non smoking restaurants.”
I assume you want to know about non-smoking restaurants. While you can take your children to pretty much any restaurant, bar or pub in the city, many of them (especially the “typical Czech” ones) are as smoke-friendly as they are “children friendly”. The Prague Post has an excellent article on non-smoking places (http://www.praguepost.com/P03/2005/Art/0210/featu4.php).
I hope that helps. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me either here in the forum or via email.
Have a great stay!
Cheers,
Patrick
