Hello Kam,
The currency used in the Czech Republic is Koruna (Czech Crown—CZK).
Current exchange rate is about 25 CZK = 1 EUR.

Hello, Czech Crown (CZK, kč) is still being used.
The Czech Republic converts to Euro in 2012 or later.

Can I use Euros in Prague please if I do not want to get the local currency unless I have to. I have been told by others that they will accept the Euro but having read the different answers am a little confused.

You can definitely use Euros at larger stores, tourist restaurants etc. The more far from Prague 1, the lesser chance to use Euro. You will probably need to have some of your money changed into CZK, If you don’t want to get ripped off e.g. in taxi. But Czech Crowns aren’t that bad – better than Dollars ;)
