hostel/apartment hunting

Has anyone stayed at the Boathouse Hostel? I am moving to Prague and after reading all the comments about hostels, I am getting worried that I won’t find a decent one. Also, if anyone knows of private owners renting apartments let me know. I want to avoid the finders fee that is so expensive.
