How to use the interactive map of Prague
Moving the map
The interactive map of Prague is draggable. Mouse over the map, hold down the left mouse button and drag the map to another location. You can use the directional arrows on the top left corner to pan left, right, up and down to see areas that are hidden offscreen. Double click on any place to re-centre the map.
Zooming the map
You can use the plus and minus buttons on the top left to zoom in and zoom out the map, or select one of the predefined scales below the map. For closure views we recommend the Satellite version. You can switch between normal street map, the satellite one and the hybrid (combined) version with buttons in the upper right corner.
The red markers mark well known points of interest, such as Prague Castle or Charles Bridge. Locate these sights in Prague by clicking on their names below the map, or click directly on any marker to open a small information window. To close an information window, use the cross in its upper right corner.

Interactive on-line maps
Our map uses Google Maps that have some limitations especially in high resolutions and are not updated often. Probably the best online maps of Prague and the whole Czech Republic are Mapy.cz, unfortunately in Czech language only. Try the street map of Prague centre or the aerial-photo map of the Prague Castle on Mapy.cz.
There are another on-line maps of Prague and the Czech Republic, but they neither reach the quality of Mapy.cz, nor are in English.
Maps of Prague public transportation
The web site of DP Praha (Prague Public Transit Co.) offers a lot of maps of the Prague public transportation. The web site is in English, but its usability is rather poor and there is no way to link to a particular map. From the home page go to Travel information and then click on any link below Routes. You may also want to read our detailed introduction to Prague public transportation.
You can easily buy many types of paper maps in the airport or a train station when you arrive to Prague. If you prefer to buy a map before your trip to Prague, try to search for Prague map on Amazon.
